Quite frankly, my inspiration was this New York Times article. I’ve always wanted to do something like this, something more than being an makeup artist. Something that helps other women.
And, one day, it dawned on me: personal makeup shopper. What better way to combine my love of helping women and my love of makeup? I did some research (I Googled), and there didn’t seem to be many (or any, really) in the DC metro area. So I knew then that this is what I was meant to do.
I always say I love “cool people doing cool things”, meaning I’m drawn to those without traditional jobs and that have a local focus. Bloggers and baristas; boutique owners and bartenders; beermongers and beauty professionals. And while I now regret not taking the entrepreneur track in B-school, I hope to be one of those cool people.
